The Day

What time should I arrive?

Arrive at 5:00 PM and be seated by 5:15 PM. The ceremony begins right after.

Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Yes. Both are at Hotel DuPont, so there’s no traveling between them.

Is it indoors or outdoors?

Indoors. No need to worry about the weather.

What time does it end?

Around 11:00 PM. There is no after-party.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Please don’t. It’s an unplugged ceremony: phones and cameras stay put away unless we invite you to take them out. We want to share the moment with you, and our photographer needs a clear view.

Should I find the couple to say goodbye?

No need. After the toasts, skip the goodbyes and join us on the dance floor.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes.

Can I request a song?

Yes. Tell us on your RSVP which song gets you dancing.

What to Wear

What is the dress code?

White Tie Optional: our most formal, elegant evening.

What does that mean for men?
  • A classic black tuxedo is perfect.
  • A tailcoat with white waistcoat and white bow tie is welcome, not required.
  • Black dress shoes.
What does that mean for women?
  • A floor-length evening gown.
  • Glamorous, sophisticated accessories are encouraged.
I don’t own a tuxedo. What should I do?

Rent one, and start early. Most rental shops and online services need a few weeks to fit you.

What’s the weather like?

Early March in Wilmington is cold. Bring a wrap or overcoat for arriving.
